Viking Funerals, Tattoos, and Gardening?
Trying to discern what these three topics have in common, as Pinterest thinks they're a solid match.
Today I made hummus, canned some pickle relish from cucumbers I grew, and am in the process of finishing up a batch of yogurt to make Tzatziki and whole wheat flatbreads. What I didn't do today was mess with anything regarding my websites and their domain redirects. Instead, I'm relishing (no pun intended) the fact that I finally convinced a tech at OpenSrs that I was correct about having only one CNAME record in my DNS box on my dashboard.
I remembered, vaguely, about how I would contact tech support after 11 pm at night, as they were—in my opinion—bored and desperately in need for a puzzle to solve. So, last night at 11 pm, I cracked open the live chat at OpenSrs and talked with Ricky for an hour about my lack of ability to redirect my domains to Google Blogger because I couldn't redirect with only one CNAME record and no ability to create four A records. Google Blogger is demanding.
What we learned was that he could see several CNAME records and the ability to create even more A records on his back end. What? After he viewed my screen shot, he was shocked. "I've never seen anything like this," he said. I replied, "Perhaps, also, you’ve seen nothing like this." Ok. Maybe that humor was a little too subtle. He didn’t laugh.
Now I know why every tech support at OpenSrs thinks I'm knocked in the head. They all thought I was seeing what they were seeing. Lesson learned. Stick this trick in your toolbox if it ever happens to you and your DNS records.
In the meantime, I kept busy--still--with the privacy policies and terms of service. It didn't help that third parties, mostly affiliates, altered their privacy policies this week, so I had a chance to view those changes to see if they applied to me. Even if they don't now, they might in the future. It's a long process, these documents.
I've been creating lists and articles for all the sites, stashing the finalized versions in folders and backing them up for transition to websites once they're live. I also created a Facebook page for Goin' Gardening just because I could. Still posting "garden cards" for tips on planting and harvesting at Instagram and Pinterest.
I find Pinterest's algorithms curious, as they now send emails to me showcasing boards that supposedly match what I'm interested in on my page. Only, the matches consist of tattoo artists and Viking funerals. I'm still trying to figure out how those two topics relate to gardening. Do you know, and can you enlighten me?
Until next week!
PS — Don't let my cooking skills intimidate you. It's all Instant Pot.
